I Did a Thing!

Introducing "The Hundred Acre Pen" Podcast

“The beginning is a very good place to start.” Winnie the Pooh

I have, for a long time, wanted to do a podcast and interview creatives that I find inspiring and impactful, but I didn’t know what that would look like or even where to start.

I have always loved Winnie the Pooh growing up. I used to have a turn player that my parents bought for me with a record of Winnie the Pooh and his friends that told the stories of Winnie and his friends’ adventures in the 100 Acre Woods. I would play that record every day, and it would light me up inside when I heard the song start playing, “Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh…and I would disappear into the world of the friendships of the offbeat characters and many of his wise words.

I didn’t know why I was so drawn to these characters at the time, but looking back, I felt like an outsider, an extremely shy little girl, and always awkward in my own skin. These characters I related to so much, even though I couldn’t define that at the time. I just fell in love with each of them. They all had their stories, and I wanted to know each.

My podcast is called The Hundred Acre Pen, where I invite Substack storytellers I admire to share a safe space with me and tell their stories behind the stories.

As the song goes:

"Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood, where Christopher Robin plays, you'll find the enchanted neighborhood of Christopher's childhood days. A donkey named Eeyore is his friend, and so are Kanga and little Roo. There's Rabbit and Piglet, and there's Owl, but most of all, Winnie the Pooh."

So, welcome to The Hundred Acre Pen, a cozy and heartfelt space where storytellers, artists, and creatives come together, just like the beloved friends of the Hundred Acre Wood.

Each episode, I invite kindred spirits—writers, artists, and makers—to share their creative process, inspirations, and the moments of wonder that shape their work. And because every creative journey has its own unique character, I ask each guest: Which Winnie the Pooh character do you most relate to, and why?

Like Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore, we all bring something special to the creative table. This podcast is a safe, welcoming place to explore those stories, where we embrace curiosity, vulnerability, and the joy of creating together.

So, grab your favorite cozy drink, settle into your creative nook, and join us in The Hundred Acre Pen, where every storyteller has a place to belong.

I hope you will join me in The Hundred Acre Pen, once a week, as I flit from beautiful story to story, inviting you to meet these storytellers, who I have found honest, open, and vulnerable, like the dear characters in the Hundred Acre Wood.

The Hundred Acre Pen, where the imagination of the storyteller is shared.

Who will be my first guest?? Stay Tuned!
