In today’s conversation with Jeannie Ewing, we explore themes of motherhood, trauma, and the slow, sacred work of healing. This space is here to meet you, not rush you.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Hundred Acre Pen. I’m your host, Sherry Taveras.
Today, I have the honor of welcoming my friend Jeannie Ewing, a writer whose words feel like balm for the weary. A published author and mother of five, including a beloved child with a rare and complex condition, Jeannie writes with an honesty that doesn’t flinch but also doesn’t forget beauty.

Her Substack and memoir share the name I Grow Strong Again. Those four words pulse at the center of her work: the ache of collapse, the sacredness of regrowth, and the soul’s quiet decision to begin again.
In this episode, we discuss the real and often hidden parts of motherhood, how it can fracture us, shape us, and slowly call us back to life. We also touch on themes of trauma and grief, so please be gentle with yourself as you listen. Skip or pause if you need to. We honor your pace and your healing.
So grab a cozy spot, settle in, and welcome to The Hundred Acre Pen.
With warmth and wonder,
Sherry🦋
