Hello Lovelies!
I've been quiet for a bit, as you may have noticed—or maybe not. Either way, it's all good.😉
I’ve been taking a break from social media, writing and all the things, which is something we should all do from time to time. Instead, I’ve been cocooning myself in silence and reflection. It feels like I’m a captain sailing the vast, uncharted waters of myself, learning to listen again to my heart, spirit, and intuition about what truly calls to me.
This process takes time. Rather than looking outward for answers, I’ve been focusing on inner work, which I do daily. It’s a never-ending journey, isn’t it? We are like onions—layered and deep. Sometimes, we need to disconnect in order to listen to and learn about those levels of ourselves that are yet to be discovered or have been buried for so long that they begin to rise to the surface, calling for our attention.
For me, it always leads me back to love. Instead of detailing my experiences over the past few weeks, I wanted to share something from James Baldwin that resonated with me regarding the nature of love.
I promise to share more details about what I’ve been learning and how I’ve been growing, once I've cherished these moments for myself long enough. You know I love to share the gifts I’ve received, so stay tuned. In the meantime, let Baldwin’s words serve as balm for any wounds you may have and remind you that love is the light we shine on one another. We are all feeling it. So I'm doing my work, so I can beam that love back to you. Love S❤️
“The longer I live, the more deeply I learn that love — whether we call it friendship or family or romance — is the work of mirroring and magnifying each other’s light. Gentle work. Steadfast work. Life-saving work in those moments when life and shame and sorrow occlude our own light from our view, but there is still a clear-eyed loving person to beam it back. In our best moments, we are that person for another.” James Baldwin from Nothing Personal
This was the biggest revelation for me (which I sort of forgot this week 🙈)
That it's all about love at the end of the day isn't it? Every single thing we do, we are, we become!
Welcome back. I noticed. And I figured you were turning inside. Glad I was right. See you soon in the retreat !
